Padding question

Hi,

I love SageTV but there's some functionality that I think would be very useful. Let's say we have two shows with padding on both ends of the recording. If they air back-to-back, on different channels, it will produce a recording conflict and only one will be recorded. I don't think this behavior makes much sense. I think it would be better for the padding to be respected for the higher-priority show and then the lower-priority show would still be recorded but with a minute or two cut off due to the padding from the other show. I'd rather have 99% of a show than no show at all just because padding caused a recording conflict. For this to work, we'd also need an easy way to prioritize shows. As far as I can tell, the order shows are listed in the Favorites Manager doesn't affect each show's priority.

Does any of this functionality exist, or is any of this planned for the near future?

The order of that list should be the priority. It sometimes appears to not be the priority when a lower priority show is recorded first; however, this usually happens becuase the higher priority show airs again & is scheduled to record later so that the other fav can get recorded also.

I would call this "soft padding", where the padding is removed if it would cause a conflict. That is not currently there, but I know people have requested it.
