DVI device detection with ATI

Hello everyone

This is not a Sage issue but I'm hoping someone else already solved this

I'm trying to get the HTPC as idiot proof as possible and my current problem is with configuring the video card when I plug in the projector through DVI.

It's not that complicated really, I switch the DVI output as primary monitor and change the resolution to 1280x720. But I want to to it automatically. I know XP is aware of a new device since it's beeping when I plug/unplug the projector.

So my question is, has anybody found a way to bind a script to the device detected event ? And I'v tried a bunch of free tools to change resolution with mixed results but nothing to change the primary/secondary device. Any pointers ?

Look at girder, it can do nearly anything possible in Windows, triggered by nearly any other event.
