Idea: supporting non-encoding cards for watching

Would it be a good idea to create Sage support non-encoding cards (ATI AIW etc.) for watching TV only? Their advantage is that channel switching is faster than on the encoding cards. (Any many people, like me, have them around since earlier setups.)
