I hate not being able to use other STV without closing SageTV
some like malores make it so easy to find shows
with upcoming movies and custom menus

You can access the setup menu by hitting the options button on the main menu.

Comskip _is_ supported. But the triggers aren't in the STV. (as far as I can tell) I'm currently running Cayar's stv on my server and the commercials show up fine on the client that I'm running this STV on.

please read my whole post before responding
I can get to the setup menu but there is no option to change STVs
I am going to have to wait on using this one until
this is added in the option/setup menu
also either DVD audio or regular audio is not available in the options
the imported video window has no navigation bar
and if you hit page up or down in the upcoming recording on the main menu
you get one upcoming recording listed twice

but it really starting to look really good
but I want a way to change STVs without having to close down SageTV

I will take a look at it then once this is added

On the main menu, presss the options command. This should take you to the setup menu. The Advanced option has "SageTV Application Definition File (.STV)." This works the same as all other stvs. You'll have to scroll down a few options but it's there.

That's strange! I'll look into it.

The imported video menu is still unfinished. With that said, what is a "navigation bar?"

I love the feedback! It's needed...Thanks!

I can live without the triggers. Just need it to read the prduced commercial skip files so I can skip while I watch. I can generate them outside of the STV easily enough.

I didn't realize that was in there. Going to have to take a look at this now!

ok I am an idiot and I did not realize you can scroll down
Thanks
I see audio for DVDs now

and changing the STV option
sorry about that

and the navigation bar is the highlighted bar which you move around on the screen which signifies where you are on the screen

I am blindly navigating in the imported library for videos
I hope thta explains it better

and sorry again Crashless and Meekell

No worries. It is a little strange without a scroll bar there. I was in a hurry and should have been more specific, but I read it as you were just missing the entire setup menu. Partially my fault too.

Oh I see...you are viewing it in the list view. If you press options and change to folder view you'll at least be able tell which is selected, though it isn't much better. I'll get a more usuable solution real soon.

I understand...I do plan to add scroll bars to any list that is larger than what can be viewed on screen. In some cases (like the settings menu) this can get a little awkward, but it will get done.

It looks for the weather images in the STVs\\OriginalV2\\MlbDude\\Default folder unless you specify otherwise in your properties file (mlbdude/right_image_root).
Meekell stv looks in the specified directory for the "weather" directory. If there is no value specified it will look in the STVs\\teehan-lax\\ folder for the "weather" directory.

Love it! (Except for Recording Conflicts & No Keyboard Mode)

I just loaded this on 2.2 beta and it's great. The UI Very clean and somewhat in the ballpark of the fantastic UI used on the Moxi Digital interface.

If you will allow me, I have a few nits to pick on an admittedly alpha piece of software. The primary problem is that it continuously pops up at me about my recording conflicts. Each time I navigate a menu, it prompts again! Because I can't seem to always resolve the conflicts, it never goes away until I remove several of my overlapping favorites. On top of that, when I click in the box to clear the conflict, the box is empty/black. I have to return to the original STV in order to manage the conflicts.

It also will not allow me to override recordings when I am watching live tv. Say I have something recording and I use the guide to switch channels. Instead of prompting with a choice, it just tells me there's an error changing channels. That's good from a safety standpoint but bad that I feel I am not fully in control of my own system! Also-the error message and the ok box are pretty unreadable.

Lastly-it's not fully navigable by mouse icons/remote clicks. There's a few things that seem to need right-mouse-clicks or hitting enter on the keyboard-including choosing a program from the guide.

All in all-very cool! Please keep working on it, it's the kind of innovation that will differentiate a great product like Sage!

I'm sorry to hear that this was giving you problems. On the otherhand I'm glad it was working. I wasn't able to test this feature. So if you don't manage your conflicts, you let Sage? So an ignore feature would be appropriate?

Conflicts + Moxi UI

Meekell:

Yes, with multiple favorites that sometimes overlap, I get to a point that I can't get Sage to recognize the conflicts are resolved. I just let Sage decide what it's going to record.

For another UI perspective on the "cross-hairs" style, check out Moxi Digital's look and feel. It's well represented in their VOD overview @ http://www.digeo.com/assets/datasheets/vod.pdf . They also have a demo on their site.

Thanks for work on this-it's already awesome!

Meekell, this is looking GREAT! Any idea when mouse function will be fully supported (for example, right now I have to hit "enter" to access things rather than just left click or double click). Also, what are the chances for right click context menu in the recordings/tv guide menus? That would be amazing. Thanks.

Meekell,

Conflict resolution displays the options but choosing an option has no effect. It immediately gives me the conflict pop-up again. The Mlbdude skin does not show the conflict icon (not sure what part of conflict resolution is in Sage and what is in the Stv)

This particular conflict was not really a conflict - I had one show from 18:30 to 19:10 and another one from 19:00 to 19:40. I always want it to record the second one. At the time I was looking it was 19:20 so the conflict was already gone.

Maybe it is a side-effect of activating your Stv half-way through the show - I don't know. Also I'm looking on the client and the server screen does not show a conflict.

On the other hand I really like the way this one looks so I'm looking forward to when my recording finishes to explore the Stv further.

Thank you!
