When you click on a show, a pop-up menu gets on top of the guide, with options of: record, record options, go to channel now & information. But it only shows the Title, channel (not logo) & start + end time (the way you see it in the PDF. then if you click on info, it turns into the menu you see now.
Gotcha! I updated the screen shots...

meekell,

Just noticed one thing. In screenshot 4 above, the 'progress bar' in the lower left hand corner has 'squared' corners, and all the other corners are rounded. I know it seems a bit picky, but if they were all consistent I think it would look much better.

sweet!
Can't wait till the alpha release..
Still dissapointed that Studio isn't released, so we could work as a community on these things... (so you wouldn't have to do all the work )

At the time, I had just begun the memory bar. It was actually a non-functional placeholder. I've updated the screens...
I was having problems reading the text size of the recordings when there was 11 rows in the guide. You'll notice I've changed the number of rows to 8 for now. This will probably be a customizable number from the options menu.

specific T+H request:
Maybe get the picture from a movie from IMDB to show in the upcoming recordings instead of the channel logo. (they seem a bit out of place in my opinion, (which you can ignore if you want to ))

With that in mind, you could integrate the recommendations to show upcoming movies/series which would have a IMDB rating of higher than (per example) 7 (or another in-setup customisable number).

and then the extras that would make this STV the Super-ultimate STV (opposed to the ultimate STV , but would probably not get integrated):
- ITunes music shop integration
- Movielink, MovieFlix, CinemaNow, Starz Real (for online legal downloading of movies. MCE has integrated it and this is a huge bonus for the family.)
- IMDB look up
- WRS
- Commercial Detection integration
- Compress feature

I definitely would like to do this. This will come later.

Excellent idea! I'll look into this.

Will be included!

Sounds like a good job for anyone looking to get involved in the project.

excellent news about the features. Can't wait 'till it's finished...
Let's see what we can come up with next..

Hi meekell,

One special request. The ability to define and external DVD player. I've been a loyal TheaterTek user since before it original release and that is the ONLY DVD playback application that I use. If possible, could you make an external player an option?

Muchas Gracious!

I've never took advantage of mlbdude's or nielm's solution to this. Do either of their solutions work for you? If so the work required to incorporate an external dvd player would be minimal.

KJake,

Thanks for the comments. I've been communicating with meekell on some thoughts regarding UI flow, etc. We'll have to wait to hear from him regarding concrete updates, but it IS being worked on.

This thread has been to quiet. It's time to get the people talking. See the first post.

I think it's time to let you guys try it out. Download here. To install simply extract the image folder and the meekell.stv to the STV folder in your SageTV installation directory.

meekell_ALPHA_112904 Release Notes:
There's going to be a lot of things that don't work as expected. Just keep that in mind.

The Detailed settings can be accessed by pressing OPTIONS from the main menu.

Channel Favorites: From the guide menu push the options button. Select new. Select your channel favorites and press done. Select yes to save your favorites list. Give it a name and select done. To select your new playlist press option button again. You should see the name in the popup menu. Select it.

I agree, too quiet.

I've been rebuilding my Sage server (making it work on XPembedded) so I've not been able to contribute much of late. (sorry meekell, I still owe you the flow overview doc I promised)

Great work so far! Once I wrapped my head around the favorite channels list, I really like it. It's great for sifting through the endless pages of channels I never watch. And the fiance gets her own list! Brilliant!

Everything else is progressing quite nicely. Though to be honest, I'm really missing the archive, any chance that's near the top of the list? When I saw the new 'more options' item on the details screen I got all excited. Tease. Great use of popup menus there BTW. Very natural and clean.

On a similar note, the imported files screen works, but seems out of place. Maybe it's just because I have no metadata for the files I have in there, but it looks really awkward with all the space on the top, and no info to fill it.

Also, minor point, and this may also be because of my using it on an MVP, but my left/right buttons no longer worked in this version. I had them mapped as 'vol up/right' etc., so I tried just 'right' and it worked again. Strange... I don't use the volume feature on the MVP so it doesn't matter, but I know some people do use these buttons mapped this way, so I thought I should mention it.

Everything else looks great. I especially like seeing the next/previous program in the timeline while watching TV. Very nice touch.

I know...I wanted to get something in place, but am not exactly sure where to go with it. I'm considering the same style list as the recordings. Also considering this for the archives.

I'll look into this. I've never used that mapping so I hadn't considered.

On the todo list: pressing left, right, up, down will alllow you to browse the timeline. The same idea as in mlbdude's stv.

I personally don't see anything wrong with using the same layout as the recordings for the archive and imports. I actually am preferring that layout to the previous WAF winner - the two pane layout. Plus, that's less work than making something completely new right?

If you could keep the same look you have now, and allow browsing of the channels and timeline, that would be extremely cool.
