Favorites and IR

I just started noticing some odd behavior. I have several Favorites that are set as "First Run". After I create the Favorite, I will see the first runs in my scheduled recordings with the white "Favorites" outline. A few days later I'll start to see repeats (from previous seasons) of the series showing up on scheduled recordings without any box outline (so I assume this is intelligent recording in action). So to keep these old episodes from recording I have to select "Do Not Like" a few times and then IR will stop recording them for awhile. Eventually the repeat episodes will come back and I have to repeat the process.

Is there a property that I've misconfigured? Or do the Favorites and IR functions work independently? Wouldn't IR know from my Favorites that I only want first runs of that particular show? Or is that expecting to much. Not a big problem, but it seems odd to me. Thanks!

They are independent. Your Favorite is recording the First Runs & IR catches teh otehrs, as you've seen. The recordings are treated separately by SageTV, so if space is needed, the IR shows will be deleted before the Favorites, for example. I often go through the schedule & mark the old shows as watched. For a series where I haven't actually watched the old shows & might like to see them, I created another favortire for that show's reruns & configured it with auto-delete turned off & Keep at Most to something like 3 so that it doesn't keep recording new ones all the time.
