TV Out problems on fx5200 (can see desktop, but no video)
Finnally got around to hooking up my tv out(svideo) from a fx5200 to my TV. There is a strange problem however, I can see my main desktop fine on the tv, but when I start Sage TV whether it is in full screen mode or windowed mode the video window on the tv is blank, kind of a blueish color, when sage is in window mode I can still see the desktop fine but the sage tv window is blank. Has anyone seen this before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

make the TV your primary monitor
I could never get smooth playback with the 5200 when using my TV as secondary monitor or the cloned monitor when making it primary monitor it worked fine |

Good call, it is set up as my secondary, I will try it tonight when I get home. My other thought is macrovision maybe. It is running through my reciever then to the tv, could this be the problem??

should not be
with my ATI I had to use 3d acceleration to get it to show on the secondary monitor but it played back badly without being primary monitor with it as primary monitor you should be able to use VMR9 |

With my ATI, certain changes to decoder, renderrer, 3D accel, etc. end up a blank, but sometimes if I leave those settings and reboot then it works. Seems like the drivers don't like to change in midstream for some things and need a reboot to straighten out.
Don't know if that will help in his case, but trying some other combinations should help (with or without a reboot). |

Just an update, I fixed it by setting full screen device for the secondary display (the tv) in the display properties under overlay controls, with no adjustments the picture looks pretty good. Thanks for the help everyone
