Angry E-home Wonder Issue

Ok, ever since 2.0.19 I haven't been able to get my e-home wonder to work properly. The reg hack works for .19 so that's what I've been using, but I'd really like to use cayars new stv for 2.1. So, anyone got any ideas? I just tried 2.1.10 and it's still the same problem, either a black screen no audio on the ehome, or sometimes I get video but no audio, and it will not tune channels. Thi s is almost making me regret buying the damn ehome.... but hey, it was cheap.
Any help would be appreciated of course.

I have the exact same problem with a PVR250MCE.
I also have an Adaptec videoh! PCI card that does work properly. Both cards were working flawlessly until I tried the first 2.1 beta. The tuner works in wintv2000, but Sage will not control it.
Any ideas?

My ehome which worked fine under 2.0.19 with the registry hack, won't work with 2.1.10 either. I too get a black screen with no audio. I tried the registry hack that was supposed to make ehome work with 2.0.20, but that didn't work. I want to update so I can use the MVP Client. Thanks for any help!

I believe to get eHome to work with 2.0.20+, you will need to undo the reg hack for 2.0.19. Leaving the hack as is and upgrading will cause the black screen.

Unfortunately the reg hack for 2.0.19 was to delete the key, so I don't have it anymore. However, I think the hack for 2.0.20 I was referring to from this thread, was just adding the key back. The instructions were:

Quote:
Close SageTV. Open up regedit and navigate to this location.
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\ATI eHomeWonder
capture" Right click on the ATI eHomeWonder folder then go to NEW -> String
Value and left click. A new string value will appear on the right side.
Change the name to "Encoder" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Then double
click on the Encoder String Value and it should pop up and you can input
Value data. For the Value data you will need to write "ATI eHomeWonder
Encoder" (without the quotes). Close the registry and run SageTV again.
Anyway, that didn't work either.
Any other ideas?

I did a fresh install of 2.1 on a system that had never had a prior version on it. My e-Home Wonder works fine on it.

Ghost, what OS are you using? I am using Windows 2K and was wondering if that could make a difference. I am thinking about upgrading to XP...

I have been working with Frey support and have made some progress with this issue. I will post if it gets solved.

I'm using Windows XP Home. It worked fine without the registry hack. I have, however, been having problems ever since I added a second tuner. My video stutters and locks up a few minutes into it when I am playing back a recording. The whole show is still recorded though because I can jump to the end and play it fine. It just can't get past the freeze point on its own. I'm going to install the new drivers for the eHome tonight. I'll post an update if that fixes my problem.

Installing the new drivers on one card and the old drivers on the second card fixed my problem.
