Yes, I'm running everything off one PC. SageTV is running as a service. I use the integrated client to watch tv on a TV that is hooked up to that PC. I use a second client installation for the MVP. |

I'm thinking of purchasing a mvp for use with this plugin. I am specifically wondering however if anyone could comment on the audio/video sync with the mvp. On my 350 tv out i have a terrible time with audio going out of sync. Does this happen with the mvp? Also will this work similiarly to my 350 tv out or are there some limitations I hsould know about. Thanks

Is the mvp able to utilize different stv's and can it use comskip? Thanks again

The MVP can use any STV (I use mine with the SageMC STV and the WAF is pretty high). Remember that the 'real' Sage Client is running on a normal windows PC, so I'd think that you could run comskip there, even though the MVP itself couldn't run it. I've not tried that approach - maybe someone else here has done so and will chime in.

Yes, and yes. Obviously the comskip runs on the PC not on the MVP itself. But functionally it works if the STV supports it.

Only problem I have is changing channels in live tv either through the guide or directly. I'll get the black screen that's been mentioned here before. I can fix it by pressing menu then exit and the video comes back on the new channel. |

If you have the MVP software already installed, your two options are to A - Uninstall it or B - Disable the MVP Services.

If that's the case, I have no explanation for that whatsoever and I can't reproduce it here either (w/ SageTV 2.1.10, BTW). But if it works for you, that's fine Quote:
The original Hauppauge Software assigns an IP to the MVP in this case. I've started implementing that as well but I'm pretty busy at work right now so it will take a while until I can release it. For now, make sure the MVP can see a DHCP server. Maybe you could "bridge" the two NICs. WinXP has such functionality, but I have no idea if DHCP packets get routed through that bridge. -Matt |

Sageclient won't start
Okay, I am sure you will all be patient with me (this is bound to be something dumb). I have used Sage for about 2 years now but only been using customizations for about 8 months. I have had MVP since June with no problem and just found this customization. Super Bowl Sunday is coming and I really need this to work and be stable! I am using Cayars17.STV. I followed the instructions in the file: Copied Sagetv directory Installed the files. Uninstalled my MVP software. ran Sagetvservice from the new directory ran startmvpclient.cmd from the new directory - Should mention I do not have sageclient as I am running only one PC + 1 MVP so I followed instructions for UI for sagetv running as a service. This is where stuff gets strange - If I open taskmgr, it shows sagetvservice running and sagtv.exe too. Mem usage keeps climbing on sagetv.exe but VERY slowly (like 10k per minute). The splashscreen for the UI stays on the desktop saying "sagetv service is initializing". MVP just says connecting to boot server. I have read about the first 15 pages of this thread and have yet to see anyone have similar problem. Most say, "5 minutes and it was up and running!". waaaahhhhhhh - I want my MVP client! Edit: Well it finally loaded. Took 40 minutes. I thought if you had the service loaded, the sage UI would load more quickly cuz it doesn't have to load the Wiz.bin settings. I am a little bummed out right now. Any thoughts? Last edited by Overclockme; 02-04-2005 at 10:13 AM. |

I'm sure this was probably answered somewhere within this thread but I was wondering if you need a client license to use this mvp plugin or not. Thanks
