I actually never looked... heh. I know you can see it in the location you mentioned, though. I saw it first hand, so took care of it. Saw that I couldn't access some of the shares when full, but could after I shut down the other client.

For Java I'm running 1.4.2_05.

What version of Java are you running?

[EDIT: Nevermind... Nothing a good old fashioned REBOOT didn't fix... Working correctly now.]

Hmm. I'm finally getting around to trying the v1.1 beta. Anyone running this?

I can't get my Media MVPs to connect, never get past the 'blocks' screen - so it apparently isn't finding the boot server or anything. Weird.

Matt,

What's the technical reason that the MediaMVP can't show the video window on a menu?

I assumed that the dongle.bin software was simply porting over whatever was on the client "screen" through the network and displaying it on the MVP.

Just curious,

Stacy

I managed to get a MVP in Maplin for just £49.99.
I installed it in the bedroom adn it looks great! I have Matts plugin running the MVP with SageMC as the STV....Wow!
It is a shame that you can't play DVD's on it at all - this is what I normally view with this TV.
The picture quality is superb. It looks better than my main SageTV in the lounge!

Also I am doing this over a wirelessG network and it works great!

Cheers for all the hard work Matt.

I was wondering if anyone has this problem. It seems when I activate the client and watch my MVP from another room it uses one of the capture cards, which is fine. If I turn off my MVP it locks that capture card on the channel I was watching on the MVP and I am only able to use one on my server in the livingroom. Only when I disable the client will the server regains control of both cards.

I think the latest beta (beta4) addresses this issue by doing a 'stop' when the connection to the MVP is dropped. An alternative is the usual Sage method of doing a 'sleep' before you switch off the MVP.

Andy.

Hit the stop button (square) on the MVP remote control before powering it off. Doing so should release the tuner that the MVP was using.

It *is* just porting the display over from the PC, EXCEPT when you are watching MPEG video.

That gets streamed directly to the MVP from the MPEG file.

That's why he can't show the video on the menus. There is nothing in the MVP to tell it to display the video in a small box at location x,y. It just does it full screen.

He doesn't have control over that. At least no known way yet to control that... Certainly no way built into the Media MVP dongle.bin at this point.

Quick question....I use the built in pvr-350 remote on my server. When I watch my mediaMVP with SageTV stv then go back to my server, I have to alt-tab to bring the focus back to my SageTV server...or else I can't use the remote. This is annoying because I usually don't have a keyoard connected.

Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to use Girder.

Thanks!

Deadbolt: Update your Hauppauge IR software (see link in SHS's post here) and then go to link #3 in my sig lines & look in post #15 for an ini for the old remote to control SageTV w/o requiring focus.

Oh... I forgot: another easy solution is to assign a button (if you have a spare one) that will run the exe again, which will bring it into focus. It just depends on what sort of solution you prefer. (If you need further help with the remote, we should probably continue this elsewhere. )

I think I found a bug. I have skip forward set to 30 seconds and skip back set to the default 10 seconds. When I FF through the commercials it seems to get out of sync with the time on the status bar. So when I'm half way through watching a 1 hour show, the status bar says I'm at the end of it. It could posibly be only skipping 10 seconds in the mpeg, while jumping 30 seconds ahead in the OSD. I've only noticed this while watching a show that is currently being recorded. Probably because I use comskip on prerecorded shows. I'm using the Cayars STV.

traversing menu structure in SageMC

what a great STV. I'm sure I'm missing something... When I'm watching a recorded show I would like to be able to stop playback go back to that programs menu. If I hit STOP it goes back to the MY TV main menu.

TIA..

Yeah, that would be nice.

However, if you hit BACK instead of STOP, it does go back to the recordings menu...

After further testing I've found that I only have this problem when I start to watch a show before it's finished recording. I don't know if this is a bug in the MVP client, the cayars STV or sagetv itself. Also, the problem doesn't seem to be limited to FF. If I try to skip ahead using "time shift", it gets messed up too.

Try the OriginalV2.stv and that will tell you if it's an STV problem or not. I don't think you'll find this to be the case however.

Video Skipping

I'm running both Sage Server and Client for MVP on my HTPC.

If anyone's seen my other posts, sorry....

I discovered something and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if I'm doing something wrong.

When I have just Sage running on HTPC, everything works great. The video that plays back in the living rom (on the sage server) is nice and smooth.

However, if I also have Client running with the MVP software, the video playing back on the sage server (on the TV hooked up to the server's PC), has small jerks to it. About once every second or two, the video will back up a frame and keep playing.

If I close out the Sage MVP client *AND* re-boot, loading just save server, everything plays just fine again.

Now, when the problems are occuring, as descibed above, only the video on the server PC (the one running both server and MVP client) has the jerking problems. The video playing on the MVP itself *AND* the other Sage Client running on another PC, do not have these jerking problems.

So, it seems to be affecting just the video decoder. Could the MVP Client be trying to use a video decoder, too -- even though it doesn't need to since the MVP is doing hardware decoding?

Maybe there's a setting I should set in the MVP Client?

I doubt my HTPC's guts are the problem..... 512MB of memory, Athlon 2400+, 250GB SATA HDD.

Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Stacy
