sagetv hanging machine after constant use for a few days?
Hi all,
Just experiencing some weirdness today. My epia M9000 box seemed to hang earlier today, bit odd since it had been on running sage for about 3 days no problem at all (constantly). Anyway, i deleted all the files in the video folder since there was only 5gb left (this is the rule i setup in sage, but why didnt it remove the files itself?) and restarted sage, told it to record a program this afternoon, so i left it to it. I switched on my tv and the picture had frozen, the h/d light on the box was constantly on but hte pc was not responding to mouse or keyboard at all. so i rebooted, did the whole video thing again. this time i left winTV2000 recording for a couple of hours, just to make sure the machine was fine. no problems, recorded 2 hours of random rubbish. so i flicked sage back on. told it to record an hour's worth of tv. Came back downstairs to check on it, picture had frozen again, h/d light on constantly and machine not responding to anything. Just ran a scandisk on the drive, no errors reported and drive isn't particulary fragmented either. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks |

Maybe its overheating? Try doing some more isolated test cases of long recording times with the different applications to get some more data.
