Want to build a video server, have questions...

My plan is to build a server in the basement and then stream video to the TVs in the rest of the house.

I have the chance to get an old Dell poweredge 6400 server with Quad P3 Xeon 900 mhz processors and 2gig ram for a VERY good price.

I'm thinking about using that with 3 pvr 250 cards installed. Then I'd run sage on that machine and then sage client to machines installed at my TVs.

Will Sage run alright on a system like that?

If it will record 2 streams plus play 2 streams at the same time on a p2-400, I don't see why it wouldn't work on the machine you mentioned. I'm assuming it would have a decent HD controller, but if not, you could always add in a newer controller.
