Remote+IR blaster compatible with Sage TV and MCE 2005
Can anybody suggest remote+IR receiver+IR blaster combo that will work both with Sage TV and MCE 2005?
My intent is to purchase both for comparison sake but I wouldn't like to buy Microsoft/Philips remote+IR receiver/blaster for MCE and something like SnapStream's FireFly remote+USB-UIRT for Sage TV... That's going to be pretty expensive. If anybody had any success with compatible solution please advise. I need IR blaster to switch DishNetork STB. Thanks |

the IR blaster for MCE will only work with it and not SageTV
you better off with the MCE remote and the USB UIRT or the Firefly remote and USB UIRT |

That will change ocen jeff add support for PVR 150 after all it got IR and IR Blaster and cool looking remote but I'm sure how compatible it is with 100's of diff STB.
For now there not really anything that all one package . |

Thanks guys, I got it. Hopefully, the new version of Sage TV will support 150. But, looking at the pictures at hauppauge site I noticed that 150 (not 150MCE!) ships with the remote that looks very different from remote that comes with 250.
http://www.hauppauge.com/images/pvr-...mote_large.jpg http://www.hauppauge.com/images/pvr-250_w_remote.jpg Both cards ship with remote and IR blaster; 150 is newer than 250. Could it be that newer 150's remote+blaster will work (somehow) both with MCE 2005 and with Sage TV (new version)? |

The blaster won't work in SageTV currently, but the remote can be configured to work. You just have to edit the irremote.ini file. If I have time later, maybe I'll configure a basic one.

Booo-yah!!!
Here's a DLL which you can put in your Frey Technologies\Common folder which adds support for the PVR150 IR blaster. This will be bundled with the final 2.1 installer....but I know many of you have issues with patience and could see no plausible reason for me not to give it to you immediately. You need to configure the IR blaster using Hauppauge's application before you run SageTV. Enjoy!

That was fast! At least I said SageTV didn't use it 'currently' instead of 'won't use it ever'.

A small question - with this new dll file - can the PVR-150 IR blaster learn the codes via Sage?
Thanks, Itay |
