Trying out SageTV, but Cannot change channels using USBUIRT
I did a search in this forum, and found TONS of information ...etc. related to the inability of SageTV to Transmit IR codes (or not as straight forward as you may think).
Now, many of those threads are cofusing and conflicting, so can someone PLEASE give me the easiset shortcut here? I can already control SageTV with my IR no problem, but SageTV cannot send proper IR signals using USBUIRT to my Dishnetwkr receiver (I do not know the model number, it is old).. Channels does not change even from within the TVGuide.. slecting a celrtain channel has no effect on what is playing.. though I see SageTV does send something from the USBUIRT (blinking), but it is not the right code.. maybe need to insert delays? HOW... I have it setup such that ENTER is pressed (told it it is required), and max digits =3 ... Bear in mind that I used the same setup with GB-PVR, and it was working flawlessly (using Girder) and very easy to setup.. Can someone please let me know how to solve this: 1- Do I still need Girder? 2- EXETunerPlugin? Where to get it from? How to use? 3- Anything lese? 4- All the above? It is just a nightmare trying to go through all the info in this forum about this issue.. So far I like this SageTv thing, except for this channel change.. It would be no use if I cannot change channels.. Thanks a lot ina dvance... Cheers.... Last edited by Gemini1706; 10-26-2004 at 12:19 PM. |

Have you tried teaching Sage the IR codes from your boxes remote? I know there's a way, but I don't know what it is. Try checking the manual, it gets installed with 2.1, or you can download it for 2.0.

Yes, it asked me during wizard, and I repeated it again after it failed to change channels..
I double checked my learning, and looks like it is correct, but still does not send the right code, or sends it too quickly..etc. Anybody know what it could be? |

I assume you made your own box profile, not used the Motorola one. That was my problem .

put this file in:
C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT Transceiver and rename it to: Dish4900USBUIRT.ir You will be all set then, ah, use this file for sage. It will work.... Chris

Maybe they should write something in the readme/guide.. Thanks A LOT eveybody.. SageTV looks pretty decent to me, and the strange thing is that, picture quality looks a little bit better than GB-PVR (or maybe it is just my perception), I wonder why is that? Since I think both systems are jjst front ends and they just envoke players/decoders from your operating system.. Anyway, cannot complain, and will see how the trial gonna go.. Cheers... |
