Not sure when I will get time to start 1.1 so I just wanted to post the big ticket items that will be going in.
Some Comskip support in OSD. Ability to search through your My Videos collection.xml for meta data. Debug window for My Videos meta data so you can see exactly what is going on. Additions to My Pictures. Corrections to some of the default menu's in this STV that may have gotten broken. Offline DVD support. Various UI changes and enhancements. |

Also seeing performance problems...

I have noticed the performance problems too. Here is my setup. EPIA ME6000 with Hauppauge PVR350 (Output through PVR350 disabled because there are too many minor niggles) Latest VIA BIOS flashed Latest VIA vga drivers Windows XP Home Overlay rather than VMR9 Hauppauge NonCSS decoders with registry entries for dxva. MPEG mode a with bob and weave motion compensation. 3d acceleration enabled Overlay colour keying enabled Sage Beta 2.2.2 UK PAL video out. With the standard STV, this works fine. Maybe the odd stutter (every five minutes or so) on DVD playback). Using the SageMC STV I get stutter every 10 seconds or so. I am quite happy to cary out various tests if that would help diagnose the problem. I suspect the answer will probably be "Get a more powerful board", but the silence of the VIA ME6000 makes it a joy to use in the living room. |

Playback support is all I ask for. I can generate the COMSKIP files myself via scripts etc if I have to.
I just want to be able for the STV to support the end result when I play the recordings. Jason Quote:

Those having issues with Meta Data on the server, try out this build of the STV.
SageMC.stv Just replace your exisitng one. Use the options command on the Program Detail menu to bring up a debug menu. Let me know if you find anything interresting. |

Hopefully this might offer some insight. Although I'm not sure what to make of it.

Aparently there is more problems on my one client that works...
The local XML is in the same directory as the video file. |

I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to see. From what I can tell (haven't tried it myself) it looks like both screencaps show it finding the XML just fine, the first one finding it "locally" and the second one having to look in the monolithic file.

That's what I'm understanding from reading it. Although both my server (first cap), which is not displaying the info, and my client (second cap), have the collection.xml in the STV folder and both are looking at the same video directory with local xmls.

Here's what I've come up with.
1) you've got a path/permissions problem such that the client can't access the filesystem where the local XMLs are. 2) Your local XML(s) is corrupt, or missing info, because of this, the server, which can see it can only pull limited info from it, but the client (which can't) pulls all the good info out of the monolithic XML. Could you post your local XML? |

The client is going to look for the local XML files in its C:\ folder. For locals to work both the client and server need to be able to see them the same way.
The symptoms on the server look like it sees the local XML but is getting either null or blank back for each function call into it. Either the XML is bad, or the file is not readable for some reason. |

OK, so all my files are on my D drive on the server. I've mapped that drive to d: on my client.
I've also setup the collection.xml to be on the same d drive. And it's still not working. The user name and password I use is the same for both computers. There is no special permission setting on the collection.xml file. I exported a new one from DVD profiler to be sure it was not corrupt. End result is there is no change... Server still displays nothing and client displays fine. Here are the new screen caps: |

I am running the server in service mode, does that make a difference?

Wheemer-
I was having the same issue. The way i got it to work for me.. was to put the XML file in a folder on the Client machine, then shared out that folder and mapped to it on the server machine. For BOTH entries in the properties file, i had to put //computer/C:/folder .. to repeat, both the sage properties on the server box and the sageclient.properties file both read exactly the same.. i.e they both used the above mapping. Does that make sense? Try that and see if you get anywhere... TK |

Still some minor degradation when switching from schedule to live tv - takes a couple of seconds to settle down (i.e. to be smooth video), but that is very easy to live with. After all, how often do you change channels except when testing? Many thanks for your rapid response - this interface is so much better than the default Sage one that I really wanted it to work. Are you taking donations? |
