It's a real shame Studio isn't out yet, because we could help you with the designing etc etc (Or just design for ourselves, and leave all the impressive coding up to you )

Small bug I figured I'd mention that has existed in the comskip stuff since the beginning: When viewing a show and auto comskip enabled if you pause the video long enough for the screen saver to kick in once you come back and play the video file again out of the screen saver the auto skip doesn't work anymore until you go back out of the video file and play it again.

Ripping DVDs

First I'd like to say I'm absolutely loving this STV. It has all of the best features put together, kudos to Cayars.

I've used the dvd ripping functionality, and made sure to edit the batch file to point to the proper resources for storage and dvd drive. It's working like a charm, however, I haven't figured out how to make SageTV import the ripped DVD into the library.

I've got the following video directories setup on my system:

d:\sage
e:\sage
f:\sage
g:\sage

I'm ripping the dvds into d:\sage\. I have tried refreshing the library contents as well as restarting the sage software to ensure the library is foreced to refresh.

Am I missing something in the setup here, or is something gone a little wonky?

Hey Cayers,

I finally tried out your stv. I absolutely love it. The only thing that I can say that I dont like (out of all these great enhancements), is that the disk space indicator(which replaces the logo) is just too small. Ive noticed that you have put it in the "to-do" list, which makes me very happy!

anyway...awesome stuff, really.

I.

Did you set up a Library Import Directory? Unless Cayars has greatly changed its functionality, see Appendix I (p. 200) of the 2.1 manual.

Is there any way to make a persistant favorite? For example.. I want to record "All" shows that list "Amazing Race".. even if there aren't any in the current EPG.. or.. I want to record all "NEW" episodes that contain the words "Battlestar Galactica", even though that series isn't starting for another couple months.. I'd love to be able to create a favorite to "Watch For".. even if there is no current listing for it..

if you are just looking to create a favorite that doesn't rely on an EPG generated list, I think Favorite by Keyword does this. It's worked fairly well for me so far.

Keyword Favorites... see page 56 - 58 of the 2.1 manual.

I think sound like a broken record...

Andy ~

Actually, I had. What I hadn't done was setup a completely seperate folder just for the DVD's which is why at first when I read your post I was like.. umm.. duh. lol

Anywho, I've got it setup properly now.

Perhaps this is good information to share in the pdf since it's not specifically stated?

I've never tried setting a Video Directory and Library Import Dir to the same locaton, if that is what you meant. I've always figured it was best to define those as separate dirs.

And, currently import dirs can be used for all types of imported media, so you can have music, pictures, video, and DVDs all under a single base lib import dir. What I know several people would like to see is the ability to specify what type of media SageTV can import from each import dir.

I'm banging on this release (never really did the other releases) and will probably be releasing it tonight unless I find something else. So far so good. and yes I changed the "logo" status and also the one that can be top "center" also among a lot of OSD changes.

That works for me. This will probably be the "D" version of the STV however. I doubt it will make the "C" version. I'm working on one display issue and as soon as this is done the "C" version will be released.

I'm having problems getting the folder.jpg images displaying on my DVD imports. They show up in the List view mode, but not in the Folder view.

They were working in the folder view under 2.1 Original2STV. I have the folder.jpg and info.my within the video_ts directory under each movie.

For example c:\dvd\man on fire\video_ts\folder.jpg

Any suggestions?

Great STV... keep the improvements coming. Is there a chance we could see an OSD similar to the SageMC one or an option to import OSD formats?

I am writing my own xmltv getter program for israel.

I was wondering how to use the "upcoming movies" section in the guide.

what property do I need to set so that this stv will display the movie name??

another question again with the hebrew.

While browsing the custom guides i see many errors in the console (I have the sage console open all the time).

all the programs are in hebrew in my guide, is there something not working which is indicated by these errors?
