Location of MPEGS changing. How to keep referrences...

I am consolodating my storage on my network...and therefore some of my pathnames will be changing. Many of my shows in my Library as well as those simply sitting in Sage's "Sage Recordings" area are going to end up in a new location. Is there any way to do sort of a search and replace on the wiz file so that I can keep this in order? For instance, I know that everything that used to be on "\\datacenter\video\pvr" will now be "\\blockbuster\video\pvr" and so on ....

Any way to accomplish this without having to import everything and lose all the tracking info?

Check the FAQ and/or manual, I think that as long as the file exists in a Sage Recordings directory that sage will be able to find it. I know Andy (Opus4) knows how to do it and has an FAQ on it.

Stanger, thanks for the reply...but it doesn't seem to work that way. The entire path is hard-coded into the reference for each mpg file. Are you sure it works that way?

Check the FAQ and manual, and also look up the use of the "make_all_mediafiles_local" property.

I think things were covered above except for another important point that I believe is in the FAQ on this: you have to have the file's previous location accessible or else SageTV won't know that the file is no longer there. i.e.: make sure "\\datacenter\video\pvr" can still be accessed on the network. It does NOT have to be one of the video dirs; it just has to exist.

If "datacenter" will no longer be on your network, then you should change your video dirs to use local paths first, _then_ change network names, then switch back to UNC paths.
