Actisys Installation

I purchased the Actisys IR-200L for use with SageTV and my Sony DirecTV receiver. I have a couple of recommendations for installation.
1) Do not install the Actisys using the new hardware receiver. The SageTV softaware will recognize it and if you use the wizard SageTV will not recognize the IR device.
2) If Actisys has trouble learning your remote try tapping the number key rather than holding it down. This worked for me.

Thanks to jeff for helping me through this.

I don't understand the point about "new hardware receiver" I am having problems with the IR200L. I installed it into a serial port, rebooted and noticed that there was no notification of "new hardware installed." I can not see any reference to IR device in my Device Manager. Am I supposed to?

So now, I launch SageRecorder and get an error message titled, "IR Transmit Error" Unable to open the IR Transmit device using C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\common\as_ir200l.dll on port 2

Any tips?

You don't need to install any drv dave but you do need setup up on the rigth port what I ref to sometime you think you have on com2 but it maybe really com 1 or diff com port number like 3 or 4 depend the way bios was setup.
first thing first check bios make sure that port is setup rigth as stardrad com port in there be sure that it showing a com port in the device manager.
Thoses directions are for Laptop, Plam, etc IR stuff it not need

Thanks SHS...think I got it working now. Seems to work fine this a.m. in my test. However, for some reason I can no longer access SageRecorder from a remote location via Windows XP Pro Remote Desktop. When I try to load the application it crashes at the point that it is saying "Locating Installed Direct Show Filters" I am running the trial version 1.1.4. Any experience with this?

SHS, no I haven't....but just solved my problem. Windows Remote Desktop works successfully with Sage based on the settings. I had "bring audio to remote pc" rather than "leave audio on host" selected and that was the problem....looks like all might be good again
