cannot start live TV.
Ok, I just installed it on a fresh install of XP mediacenter 2005 and the beta wont start live TV it gives the following error "The connection to the SageTV Service has been lost. The connection will be reestablished once the SageTV service restarts."
When I first installed it I installed it over the last version, I then uninstalled and reinstalled just the beta. I was also running Java 1.5 before, but then I went back to the last 1.4 just to see if that was the cause. It wasnt. I also disabled the service using the service control. The only thing that that accomplishes is that when you try to start tv that Sage quits. any other suggestions? Athlon 2800 1gig ddr 333 128gig drive nvdvd 4.00.20 drivers. |

Try restarting SageTV (the app, not the service).

no changes after doing that.

I've seen that too. I think it's a bug in the program with this beta. I got an email saying to turn on the debugging in the sage.properties file so I can provide them with the debugging info to find the cause. I of course had reinstalled 2.0.20 at that time, so I haven't done that yet. You might want to do that to help them out.

ok, also have this error that finally came up while marking the console info. "There was an error of playing the selection of: ERROR (-17): The playback request could not be completed due to a network failure. also I cannot capture what occurs when the service is disabled by the executable because of the crash. I noticed the ip calls and thought that it may have been the xp firewall, but it still occured after disableing it.

You need to send these to beta test support along with a detailed description. Technically you should fill out a bug submission form, but since you already have the logs and a good description of the problem I would go ahead and send a detailed description of your configuration, OS, hardware, software, etc. Attach the Logs and all sage.properties files to betatest@freytechnologies.com

It was later determined that my card was bad. I was using an Shuttle XPC and apparantly it got hot enough to kill tuner cards after a week or so of 24/7 running. It was the 2nd card I had put in machine at that point. I got two PVR-150s and an Nforce 2 mainboard and have been happy ever since. I do admit that they did help me out in the determining the problem once I finally wrote them. The Customer support was awesome!
