adding a multiswitch for my Directv

So I am going to be adding some more receivers to the household but I currently only have a dual lnb sattlelite. I was told at radioshack that this was the thing to get
http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...2584&hp=search

but it seems pretty expensive even though it is powered. Also I have read about future proof mutlswitches when browsing some of the forums.

I have this exact switch in my setup (DirecTV with 4 recievers and dual LNB) and have not had a problem with it. I run it unpowered because I got it from a friend without the power supply.

I've seen them all over the internet from satelite equipmet dealers, you could also check Ebay. Not sure on a reasonable price but $84 seems a little high for a switch.

Good Luck
David

FWIW, I bought my multi-switch off ebay also and it works GREAT. It is a 2 in/4 out model, but the wierd thing is that although I'm running it with DirectTV, the multi-switch is actually branded "DishNetwork". Bottom line is that the multi-switches will work with either brand, just buy the least expensive to suit your needs. I paid $9.00 plus shipping for mine, so yes the RadioShack price is a 'little' out of line.
