SageTV 2.1 rc4 - Old problem FIXED but new arrived...

Hi All,

I installed the new Beta version 2.1 RC4 - found some good & some bad things:

For the GOOD!
Full hebrew support - no problem exitting SageTV and getting those question marks instead of Hebrew after a restart...also favorites in hebrew works great.

For the BAD!
1. Cannot use SageTV in service mode - I get this error on LiveTV:
sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-3,0x80004005): There was a problem accessing the filesystem for playback.
Disablling the Service mode and using SageTV as V2.0 - I do NOT get this error - and I can get LiveTV. (I think this is a problem (again...) with hebrew support cause the filename that sage saves the LiveTV in is in hebrew...)
2. Cannot get PAL to work - I get liveTV in NTSC. Tried everything I could find in the forums...still not working.

Any ideas???

Check the manual... I don't remember where, but thought I spotted something new that needed to be changed for PAL users.

PAL uses should set mmc/video_format_code=8

For your service problem are you using a UNC drive for video? If so you need to change the login name for the service. This can be done with the SageTVServiceControl utility.

Did a search for "PAL" in the new manual -> found three places it was mentioned - Did everything.

No PAL for me...

Sometimes it is easy to miss a reply posted right before you post your own reply... so make sure to see Jeff's reply directly above.

Also, note that the service cannot used mapped drives.

Tried : mmc/video_format_code=8
Still no PAL.

BTW, I have two PVR 250MCE in my HTPC:
One is NTSC (From the US) and one is PAL (From Israel).
Using STBs with s-video/Composite on both PVRs.

The strange thing is that the v2.1 RC4 change both PVRs to NTSC even the PAL one. I know that because I started v2.0 (saved a backup) and got ntsc on livetv...so I had to use GotTV to change back to PAL... Now it is PAL again - but only in the "old" v2.0

Could it be a bug in this RC4?
Should I post it as a bug report?

About the service - I'm using only LOCAL drives (C, D & E) for recordings, should I change anything?

Shows mmc/video_format_code=1, did you change it back after trying it at 8 as suggested?

Also, must close SageTV before making changes to the proprerties file. Don't know how that works now with the new run as service option though.

You have to stop the service to edit Sage.properties & you have to exit SageTV (the UI part) to edit SageClient.properties.

SORRY!!!
I attached the OLD (v2.0) properties file...BTW, even with mmc/video_format_code=1 I see PAL on v2.0.

Including the new one (v2.1).

Sorry -- I don't know much about PAL, but that new properties file still shows that prop set to 1.

I believe that is one of the new properties for v2.1 and doesn't do anything in v2.0. Not sure. Anyway, it's still set to 1 in the 2nd file you posted.
