Remote control issue
Is that possible to still use remote to control sagetv when your screen is locked (switch user in xp)? I want to use my desktop computer for playing back to tv but don't want to keep my session open all the time. It seems that you have always be logged in to be able to use the remote. I'm using 350's tvout. Any solutions to this?
Thanks. Last edited by h8dk97; 10-14-2004 at 11:02 PM. |

Kind of a strange issue to have at home. Regardless, I would create a user just for this purpose. Log that user in (or use the auto login with tweakui) and as long as it has just user rights you should be fine.

Thanks for reply. But I'm still unclear, if user is logged on but the screen is locked would I still be able to use a remote to control SageTV?

I just had an idea. Would that be possible to map one of the buttons on remote control to switch user on WinXP, to switch to the SageTV user (that user would not have a password and have limited privileges)? Anybody?

h8dk97:
You could probably do this with a macro. Download a macrorecorder from for example Aldostools, record the mousemovements keyboard-entries and mouseclicks necessary to switch user, add a hotkey to the macro, map this hotkey to your Remote and play the macro by pressing the Remote button. Hope this helps, jan |
