Cannot play MP3's

When I try to play mp3's through 350 tvout or even some mpg files (which were not recorded with sagetv) nothing happens. Did anyone have the same problem and how do you fix it?

The PVR-350 is not capable of playing MP3's through it's audio outs. It's a limitation in the hardware. It also will not play DVD's or MPG's with encryption.

To get around this what most people here do is route the PVR350's audio out to the line in on their sound card, and then take the audio out of the sound card to their speakers or receiver. This way TV audio passes through the sound card to the receiver, and you can also hear windows sounds and MP3's.

To view a DVD it must be ripped and decrypted for playback. If you want Dolby Digital or DTS pass thru, you'll need to put a delay as the 350 can't output or decode DD or DTS.
