Do you think that this .mpg issue is somehow causing my installation to become corrupted (The problems with not remembering scheduled recordings after restart and the music library crashes)?

Omegadsl & Narflex:

Thank you guys for attacking the mpg import problem. I keep planning to try some of that stuff on my machine, but life keeps getting in the way.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

That Morgan Stream Switcher looks highly suspicious. Do you know what it is?

I've no idea. I'll look into it and post back in a few.

When I right-click on it in the graph and select properties, it reads:

Quote:
This filter allows you to use multiple-language AVIs in Windows Media Player and to switch audio streams on the fly.

Go in the 'Language' menu of Windows Media Player to select the active audio stream.

Doesn't it seem like it's for AVI's?

Remove it, whatever it is. DirectShow is inserting it unnecessarily by default. There's probably something 'morgan' related in your add/remove program.

What would be the easiest way to do this? There is nothing with the name "Morgan" in my add/remove. I searched my HD for the word Morgan but I found nothing.

Ahhh, I know what it is now but it's most likely not the problem. This is something that is installed when you install the AC3 filter pack off of Doom9.net. I downloaded that just yesterday and this .mpg problem goes back before that .

Removing the filter didn't fix it (I just reinstalled and tried again).

Do you have any other suggestions, Narflex? Also, rrussell, would you by any chance have mpeg2vcr installed?

mpeg2vcr? Doesn't ring a bell - nothing like that in my add/remove programs list.

My graphedit diagram looks just like yours w/out the morgan thing. Only difference is that I have the CyberLink audio and video decoders.

No more ULEAD on the system. There's a "NanoPEG" mpeg editor and I do have the DivX codec installed.

I'll try i nstalling the 1.3 release next.

Good luck. The 1.3 release didn't seem to resolve this issue for me. Perhaps our problems are caused by differing factors. It shall be interesting to see if yours is resolved with 1.3. This way I'll know if there is just something wrong with my setup.

Hi Omegadsl,

I have been watching your difficulties. Just to try to help you eliminate some things, I have just successfully imported a SageTV created mpeg into the Library. I do have Womble's MPEG2VCR on my machine. Oh, I'm running the latest official SageTV release. No client installed. I hope some of this info is of help to you or Narflex.

Thanks for SageTV 1.3.8

Thanks for the new SageTV 1.3.8 -- it's working happily under Win98SE on my system. Now I don't have to do the harddrive swapping to switch between Win98SE and WinXP anymore. And no channel-changing sound sync problems from what I can tell. You must have everything licked for the Creative VB DVCR card now even though the card isn't being sold anymore except maybe on Ebay. I should be updating my webpage sometime soon. With SageTV working much better for me, and with the season finales all done, I think I can more actively play with SageTV some more on a more consistent basis.

(the latest version is larger because the manual got a lot bigger)
Ok, but as I said in first part of this post. My install failed to find the documentation. I downloaded the trial today, in case some thing was corrupt in my first download. However whenever I try to run it, it see's the current install and aborts. It says to uninstall and reinstall. I don't want to lose all my configurations.

Is there any way around this? Can I just download the documentation seperately?

We rebuilt the installer late yesterday and the manuals are back to normal size. The new installers are available on our website.

justme, before you try installing the same version of any Sage application make sure you uninstall the old one first. It will NOT delete your configuration or database files. Then install the new version. If that doesn't work, send an e-mail to info@freytechnologies.com to request a copy of the manual.

Is there anything else that I can try? I'm really stumped about this .mpg import issue. Please let me know if there's something I can do to help resolve it.

Have you installed DX9 yet? Maybe something is bad in your DX install, upgrading to DX9 could fix it.

Yeah, I had DX9 installed before I installed SageTV. Curiously, why do you think it might be a DX issue?
