Only if I knew if Studio opened up the APIs?!

I keep watching the forums for some insight about customizing/adding plugins to SageTV, but nothing yet - I am thinking that is part of some Studio master plan??

Maybe this info is somewhere and I haven't found it - I want to added a the ability to at least record HDTV via whatever I find easiest right now (A PCI card or firewire....) . It doesn't even need to built into Sage's viewing realtime viewing. I just want access to the recording schedules to start and stop an external process to capture HDTV content that I can watch later in the Sage interface (I don't think HD MPEG2 files are issue for playback) This would be a great solution to fill the gap until HD hardware/capture tech is officially supported.

When you have people like myself that are willing to expand the capabilities (for FREE - well selfish motives that is) this should be a no-brainer.

Skills aren't the question here either - it seems like there are definitely some software developers that use it too. I have been developing media software using C/C++, java, C#, directshow, etc for 5 years.... 12 years total...

Give the community some of the hooks for the app and there would be an explosion of functionality...

Specify the object interfaces and use reflection to dynamically load plugins defined in an XML file - pretty simple (Similar to the ServiceLocator/InitialContext pattern in the J2EE spec)

Thanks -
