Sage channel issues

I am writing to somewhat a similar issue that was posted earlier by dezijan but I think may be a different reason.

I have had Sage working on my system for about 7 months with no real issues. I am using Directv box and the low data serial cable. All of the sudden it started not changing channels and sound would not work on one card. After trying to fiddle with it I gave up and removed everything but the bear minimum. I pvr250 video card, mouse and keyboard. I reinstalled XP and everything that Sage needed to work. I am not having a sound problem at this point but.

I start Sage and can change the channel once. When I close Sage completely and restart it. I can change the channel once more. After that, the channel stays the same. Sage will black out and show the channel change but the directv stays on the same channel.

I am using a wireless keyboard that uses a serial connection. I have switch these and the same happens. No matter on what comport my keyboard is on it works just fine. I have ruled out the possible following issues.

Serial Port. If it was a bad serial port or conflict my serial mouse would not work.

Serial Data Cable. I can change the channel at least once before it stops working.

Directv Box. I doubt this could be the issue I am using two boxes and they both do the same. I cant see how both boxes could go bad at once. I have restarted both with no avil.

This leads me to a possible sage issue. I have no idea what to do next. Sage has been great to be so far as this program goes.

can you try running it without the keyboard and mouse?
