Sage recordings listed as Imported??
This has probably been asked and answered before, but I wasn't able to find this specific problem. A whole bunch of files that were recorded by SageTV and are in the SageTV video recording directory are not listed as recordings, but rather show up in the Imported Videos list. As a result, of course, SageTV wants to try to record them again if they show up in the guide. They were recorded as favorites. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to which ones ended up in the import list instead of the recordings list. Is there a way to get them back. It appears the the recording directory is, by default, part of the import directory list, as well. I tried moving to a different recording directory (followed the instructions) in the hopes that rescanning the recording directory might fix it. No luck. AFAIK I did not mark these files other than they were watched. I didn't attempt to delete them or move them to the library, but they seem to have done that. Any help?? It's not the end of the world; they would have been deleted eventually anyway. Just trying to figure out what happened.

If Sage finds a file that it does not know about in a recording directory, it puts it in the imported files list. If the computer is shutdown improperly, the database will sometimes lose the information about the show. Since Sage no longer recognizes the file, it will put it in the imported files list like it would any other file if you copied it to a recording directory.

That explains it. Thanks.
Is there any way to get Sage to re-scan the recording directory and recreate the information, or is it too late at that point. |

I think it's too late at that point, but I haven't really tried to recover the information. It's happened to me a few times. It seems to me that Sage must not be writing everything immediately to disk. Changes to the wiz.bin file, which holds the information, must be cached in memory. So if the power goes off before Sage gets around to writing to disk, the data is lost. I've never lost any show data from old recordings, only recordings made in the last 24 hours or so before an improper shutdown.
