Sound is cut for 1/2 sec every 15 sec.
Hi,
I have a very annonying problem : For fews days now, when I record one specific channel the sound cut and come back. I mean, the video is playing then after 15 sec the sound is off for 1/2 sec and then is back and so forth ... It's not the playback, the problem is in the encoded video. I tried to copy the video file to another computer and the problem is still there. The strange thing is that my PVR is running for more than one month before this problem occurs and it occurs only for one specific channel (apparently). I really need help because that's the channel my girlfriend watch, and she's not very torelant with this kind of problems ;-) Thanks

I hate to ask the obvious, but could it be the cable provider?
Try watching it on a normal tv and see if the cutouts are still there. Jere

make sure the card is running cool since you are using a Asus Pundit
and update the drivers from hauppauge's web site try using a constant bit rate recording quality as well |

What do you mean by "make sure the card is running cool" ?
I'll try to update the drivers but I think I've the latest version. For the recording quality I use the "standard" Great quality. I'll check if it is constant of variable bitrate (but I think it's constant). Thanks

great is relatively low vit rate
try raising it to BEST (it is constant bit rate just like GREAT) what driver version does the device manager say? and how can you not understand make sure the card is running cool? make sure the temperature inside the case is not cooking the components the Pundit case is very small and you have added hardware to it so it could be running hotter than it should be now |

If best is the max MPEG2 quality, I've already tried it ...
I'll check tonight for the driver version. I'll check for the temperature of the card but everytime I checked, the pundit didn't seems too hot ... And is does not explain why it happens for only one channel ... (note that this channel is maybe the one with the highest signal quality from my cable operator, can it be tied ?)
