I don't believe so. It defaults to recording _all_ of the airings of a show that you mark as a fav. If you add it as a fav while looking at the details screen for the show, the button will change to Fav Options (or some such thing) & you can click on that to change its settings right away. I pretty much do the same thing so I can set my favs to have padding.
