EHome Wonder broken by 2.0.20

I had my ehome wonder working just fine under SageTV 2. I made the mistake of updating to the .20 release and now all I get is a blank screen from the ehome wonder. I tried to old registry edit trick to no avail. My PVR2500 works great still.

Any ideas?

Andrew

Good question. I've been trying to get a tuner only ehome working myself. Lots of conflicting info here. I simply can't get it working. I can swap the cable from the non-working ehome wonder to a pvr250mce and the pvr works just fine. The ehome seems to be properly set up and sage recognizes it - just no output (black screen and no sound).

For the eHome, you will have to use 2.0.19 with the registry hack. Not sure what changes was made in 20 that broke the eHome. Currently, I have eHome and PVR-250 running fine with 2.0.19.

If I could get a copy of 2.0.19 I would do exactly that. Unfortunately, the bundle I bought came with 2.0.20 and I can't find previous versions anywhere. I emailed Frey support just tonight and asked them to make previous versions available on their site.

This is the fix I got from Frey Support:

Quote:
Close SageTV. Open up regedit and navigate to this location.
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\ATI eHomeWonder
capture" Right click on the ATI eHomeWonder folder then go to NEW -> String
Value and left click. A new string value will appear on the right side.
Change the name to "Encoder" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Then double
click on the Encoder String Value and it should pop up and you can input
Value data. For the Value data you will need to write "ATI eHomeWonder
Encoder" (without the quotes). Close the registry and run SageTV again.

This should do it for you.
I didn't try it because yesterday a kind soul pointed me to a copy of 2.0.19. I hope this helps someone.

eHomeWonder Drivers

Somehow I managed to misplace the install disk that came with the eHomeWonder. (it was not a printed disk, and it may have been picked up by someone looking for a blank cd) ATI has been of no help in getting a copy of the install. Has anyone found a copy online anywhere?

Regards,
Sailn

Well, I had a chance to try the so-called "fix" Frey Tech sent me (quoted a couple posts above) and it didn't do a damn thing. Ehomes are still broken under 2.0.20.

I'm using an eHome and it works under 2.0.20... I know this is no help, but just letting you know.

edit: I don't know if it matters, but I'm using the low profile version of the eHome

Sailn, I have two of the ATI install CDs. I'd be more than happy to mail you one if you want it.

k1114, I am having issues with a dual tuner setup. Is yours working out alright?
