Sage Sleep Timer

I created these two apps in VB. They're identical except that one is for SageTV and the other is for the client. Executing it will popup a window. Just type any integer greater than or equal to 1 and hit "enter" and Sage will close in that many minutes. The background is also skinnable by typing "bg" and hitting "enter". Let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy!

It sends the "PowerOff" command to Sage.

maybe just closing LiveTV would be a better option since recorded shows end on their own

But, by putting it to sleep, you can have the PC resume its power management functions.

BTW: I added it to the list of Utilities for use with SageTV.

Ok, I updated the apps. You can now tile or stretch the background image by simply typing "tile" or "stretch" and hitting "enter". I've also added versions to just close LiveTV and not put Sage to sleep. All links are in the first post.

ok, Ive been wanting a program to put my sage tv to sleep.

Im not sure if this app, will do what I want...

I want to type in says 90 minutes to sleep... while in live tv, and have it just put sage to sleep, so that it won't record live tv anymore, but still have it to record scheduled recordings...does this app, do this?...if so which one would I use...I have just plain sage tv v2.

thanks, cc

cc,

yes this app will do what you want. The top two listed are for regular Sage and the Sage Client respectively. They will simply put Sage to sleep as if you clicked on sleep from the Sage menu. Sage will still be running and will record scheduled programs. The bottom two listed are for people who don't want to put Sage to sleep, but just want to close out LiveTV. They will simply close LiveTV and return Sage to the main menu. So in short, you will want to download the first one.

Is there a way to set up a dos switch command so that the timer could launch with a preset 60 or 120 minute timer and not have to use a keyboard to set the timer?

Or else, by having the program accept commands from the remote so that the timer could be set to whatever value wanted?

The reason I ask is, I use nieml's customizable menus so I can set a menu item that will launch the timer via the remote, and only use the keyboard in rare cases.

Josh, do you know why the interface is completely blank when I run the sleep timer? I don't see any buttons... just a grey background.
