PVR 250 ITVC16 not good, ITVC15 works

Hey Folks,

Last night I tried using a couple of PVR 250's that have the ITVC16 chip. I had problems with rectangular blocks showing up randomly over the video. This problem started about 30 minutes after starting SageTV.

I tried the latest supported driver for the cards from the hauppauge.com website, as well as the latest beta that recently (yesterday maybe) showed up at shspvr.com. Both drivers had the problem with the ITVC16. Not sure if it was a defective board, or if this is a known issue.

I removed the ITVC16 based boards and replaced them with ITVC15 based boards. No problems since I swapped boards.

The ITVC16 boards run a lot cooler, but gave me trouble. Guess I will stick with the older chip as it seems to work better for me.

Please look at the image included in this thread:

Is this similar to the rectangular blocks you're seeing?

No, my fragments were different. I simply returned the card. Not worth trying to troubleshoot when the card is within the store return period.
