weird back to back behavior

i understand that under normal circumstances, back to back shows on the same channel will be split at the 30 min (or whatever) mark (remove padding--true). however, i noticed today that back to back shows will have padding removed even when one of the shows is'nt to be recorded. eg some primetime shows i miss are shown earlier in the day, and sagetv records it (i set it to record 2min earlier, 0min later for 32min total). then it replays in the evening and another difft episode right after (eg 8-8:30, then another 8:30-9). sagetv intelligently does not record the repeated evening show (8-8:30), yet it begins recording the next show without padding (eg it records at 8:30-9 rather than 8:28 to 9). is this because it factors in all shows even if they are not recorded? it is a little disappointing although a small issue (usually the misisng padding reuslts in a 30-60s late recording); the shows are under their own favorite so the afternoon and evening shows should act similarly.

have you tried "rewinding" cause the files still start at the correct time you just need to skip backwards a little

-once you start the playback of the file of course

i actually often play using windvd or something other than sagetv, which falls over when seeking.

the mpegs definitely start late. i check the properties, and the afternoon ones are created at x:58 or x:28 while the new ones in the evening are created on the hour or half hour.
