HTPC Recommendations

I'm looking at building an HTPC. I have asked a few questions, but don't seem to be getting a complete idea of what I need to build it.

Here is the current equipment i am using for a HTPC. Pulled out of my current PC while I get ready to upgrade to a 939 system for gaming.

P4 3.0 Ghz Northwood
AOPEN AX4SG MaxII
512MB PC-3200
120GB Hitachi SATA
Gigabyte 5900XT 128MB
M-Audio 7.1
WinXP SP1

What would you recommend as far as the rest of the equipment? Capture card? Remote controll for using IR?

This PC is currently hooked into my HDTV boob tube through the DVI connector on my Gigabyte. Does great for movies, but I would prefer a controller instead of the mouse and keyboard.

If figured that giving you what I did have would make it easier for you to give me a picture of what I need to do. Also, any recommendations on good websites wiith information on HTPC's. I have found a few, but they do not have a great selection of information.

Thanks.

VV
