Have to press fwd/rew buttons twice

Eversince i bought a univ remote and trained Sage all the buttons via usb-uirt, i have to press the fwd/rew buttons twice for them to work.

Is this normal ?

The fwd/rew buttons used to work with a single press when i used the silver remote via the hauppauge ir app.

JFYI -
i have assigned the REW button to the command linked to {CTL}-a keys and the FWD button to the command linked to the {CTL}-f keys.

The skip back and fwd buttons are linked to f5 and f6 and still work in a single press.

It sounds like your remote is rotating codes/toggling bits. Try learning those buttons to Sage twice (if you can).

I still haven't figure out the logic to having a remote protocol that works that way, but I've seen that problem a few times and once you know it exists, it's easy to spot.

I'm just glad to hear you can learn multiple commands to on action in Sage.

As far as I know, the logic behind it so that the receiving device can very easily distinguish between a repeat from holding down the button vs. pressing the button repeatedly. You can easily ignore/deal with repeats with the same toggle bit & then treat separate presses differently.

Of course, you can still manage to get it to work when the button always emits the same code, so the bit toggle isn't _required_, obviously. The toggle seems like a crutch to me.

Edit: Learning multiple IR codes to the same command seems reasonable, since you can also assign multiple keys to the same command. But, it is nice to know for sure.
