ATI AIW Series Questions

I have been reading various reviews on software and I noticed that SageTV seems to do a better job than what ATI has. I am looking at either a 9800 or 9600 depending on how things work out. Does the software work with these cards? How well do they work? I figure it will be cheaper to pickup a 9600 or a 9800 instead of the Hauppauge recorders and still have 2 pci slots left.

SageTV does not support the AIW now, they will work as standard video cards, but the capture portions aren't supported.

IMO, one of the big reasons SageTV does a better job than ATI's software, is that it relies on the hardware encoder on the hauppauge cards to do all the compression, so the processor doesn't have to do any work.
