problem getting PVR250 card to work SageTV

I have been running SageTV when no problem for a long time with a WinTV PVR350 card. I purchased a PVR250 (v16) card
and tried to get them both to work together in the same machine and eventually abandoned that idea after ready thru posts on this board.

I took the 350 out and just tried to run with the 250 and SageTV will not tune any channels when tuner type is set to Cable. If I set it to Antenna it tunes channels (with snow) up to 14.

PCTV2000 tunes channels fine using Cable.

I get vertical white/black bars on most channels and dark snow on others.

I have try a fresh install of the 250 drivers and sage tv and also tried setting always_autotune=false and feature_mask=8 (spelling might be wrong since i don't have access to my Sage.properties file right now).

I have the same problem with BeyondTV. Any ideas? Specs are below.

Thanks,
Ed

SageTV 2.0.20
hauppage driver 18.22170
Windows XP SP1

Hey I'm having the same problem...I figure it's got to be a newbie problem but unfortunately I haven't been able to track it down. Does the tuner work correctly with WinTV2000? I wonder if there is some kind of compatability issue?

why do not both of you try this uninstall sageTV

delete the program folder for Frey's Tech.

uninstall the pvr cards being used

and follow the install instructions in the FAQs in here in SageTV

for both the drivers for the cards and SageTV

when setting up sageTV you should not have to mess with property files

and "always_autotune=false"

I believe is for cable boxes/satellite boxes

UPDATE: still having problem

still no joy here...

I did a fresh install of Windows XP, installed the latest hauppage drives (22170), WINTV2000 works like a charm.

SageTV still doesn't (can't tune channels with "Cable").

I installed 2 sets of old drivers (20347 and 22037 - after running hwclear and rebooting 1rst of course), and WINTV2000 and SageTV would only tune 1 channel (the same channel would show up on all channels).

Does this ring a bell with someone?

If I swap the PVR250 v16 with my PVR350 v15, everything works...

thanks,
ed
