Selecting comm detect in the detailed info screen will run comskip for that show only...
Selecting Commercial Detect All in the Malore sage recordings screen will run comskip for all existing recordings of that show.

If comm detect in background is enabled, it should try to comm-detect all existing an new recorded shows (depending on the settings of the options).

There is no option like 'Com skip all future episodes of CSI only'

Is there possibly a bug relating to this?
It's possible -- I don't use comskip myself, hence all the UNTESTED...
Do any .txt files get created at all?
Have you tried enabling the comskip console window and Sage debug console to see what might be going on?

[EDIT] -- I introduced a bug in 1.4 for background comm detect... Sorry. Fixed in 1.5!

Apart from the customisable menu.xml. there are only 2 places: RSS news and IMDB search... and you are not forced to click the buttons
The IMDB search may change form in the near future, but the RSS reader is not something I am likely to change...

(I have my remote's power button mapped to send ALT-F4 to handle issues like this, and other annoying Windows pop-ups such as my virus scanner!)

Does this mean you are thinking of something that would strip the IMDB page and just display the IMDB stuff directly on the sage screen?
That would be so cool.

I am thinking about having a local IMDB instance
(http://www.imdb.com/interfaces)
-- IMDB expressly forbid screen scraping (http://us.imdb.com/conditions)

Downloaded 1.4 last night. When I select a show in the mlbdude recording screen it still doesn't open the video, just the sound.

I think it would be cool if you could exclude comskip to do background commercial detect on certain channels such as HBO since they don't have commercials. Just my 2 cents.

such as with the background_commercial_processing_ignore property, for instance?

Actually, there is one other place: The sponsor links under the Weather Suite launch a browser. I guess my desire isn't so much to embed the details under RSS news stories, but to disable getting more details (and thus launching the browser) from within Sage. I'm personally more interested in maintaining the user experience than reading complete news stories, if that makes sense. I generally use RSS for briefs, and I'll sit down at a computer later to read more about something I'm interested in. The browser interface is just fundamentally different than a 10-ft TV interface. This applies to Weather sponsors, IMDB, and RSS. Then again, beggars can't be choosers, right? ;-)

Either way, I gotta say that I'm generally very happy with the STV.

In regard to my earlier post about DVD burning, any thoughts? I'm thinking of trying it out by renaming executables and making "compress" perform the "burn" function, if you aren't interested in this. Of course, customizing the left column show options would make this more, um, attractive...

Thanks for everything, Nielm!

THANKS!!! T.

Go figure ... Woke up today ... Launched Sage Client and RSS2 fixed itself???

See attachment ... I wonder ... Could it have just been an RSS2 site issue?

Thanks, T.

Thanks Niel ... Got it ... As mentioned I have yet to fool around with comm detect ... now.... you say "if comskip.exe is installed" ... That makes me believe by merely installing your STV comskip is not there and it requires a separate install process ... is that so?

Question Missing Channel and Channel Logos on 1.4

Niel ... I just noticed something with 1.4 ... and the added MlbDude2 2 Pane menus, Browse by Category, Browse by Station, and Upcoming Movies.

In MlbDude2, when you select a show, the channel and channel logo show up at the top of the screen with the details.

On, 1.4 these don't show up?? Any thoughts?

BTW ... my Channel Logos are all in the folder and worked in MlbDude2 on this client.

Thanks, T.

I may have missed this ... Were you going to add the Setup Wizard as an Internal Screen. Since I have made a custom Settings menu I would like to include it, but can't seem to find it ... THANKS!. T.

The program to detect Commercial breaks is not included
-- follow the instructions for Malore's STV

Favorites Recording Padding

Is it just me or does the padding for the favorites not work? I have all my shows set to start recording 3 min before the show starts and when I switch to nielm combo STV from Mlbdude sage is no longer paying attention to the padding. Other then this little bug nielm you have done a great job.

Padding works for me... Are you sure this is happening, and are you sure the recording/favourite has padding?
