Re: Version 1.3 update

Oh man, I can't wait to try this! I've been waiting for the commercial advance, so hopefully it works. Still using Malore's (VERY GOOD!) stv. But am missing weather and RSS...

What a great effort this is! Both on the original content and the collaborative content.

This is the first skin that I can honestly say has everything *I* wanted in a skin. Should be fun configuring it! The documentation looks easy enough (I've done my share of XML in the past).

I'll report back

ok, don't want to sound the least bit ungrateful so think of this as a completely idle question:

is the mini-OSD from mlbdude in this skin?

I love all of the other additions. I would just download it and find out for myself but all of my weekends are filled for some time and I want to set aside a couple hours to mess around with xml.

As always, thanks for the great update. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I can't find a way to manually detect commercials on a recorded show (?) Thanks again!

THANK YOU!

I just wanted to say once again, your STV is the bomb. This is pretty much everything that I want (w/ the newely included commercial skip!).

Not to discount the hard work that the others have done at all. Without their hard work, you would not have compiled all these great options together (or so quickly!).

Thank you mlbdude, malore, neilm (and others which im probably not aware of at this point)!

I.

Failed to load SageMenuReader class

This is from dooferlad on page 4 of this thread:
Quote:
I am getting the error "failed to load sagemenureader class" when loading this STV. Any ideas?
I am having the same issue. Any ideas on what we are doing wrong?

Installation steps Ive taken:

#1 Unzipped the files where told. Also I unzipped nielm.stv into the OriginalV2 folder.. are all the unzipped files supposed to be in there or just the SageTv folder?

#2 Modified sage properties line to wizard/widget_db_file=C\:\\Program Files\\Frey Technologies\\SageTV\\STVs\\OriginalV2\\nielm.stv

#3 Modified the weatherconfig to include chicago
<location
name="Chicago"
label="Chicago">
<weathersourceinfo id="USIL0225"/>

I think that about covers it. What am I missing?

If you don't have a file named:
c:\program files\frey technologies\sagetv\net\sf\sageplugins\sagemenu\SageMenuReader.class

then you probably didn't extract the Java class files correctly.

Ok, without reading a 12 page post on com skip, what all do I need to install to make that work on this STV? I'm also gonna have to set up my server to use UNC shares for my recorded files (Grrr, KNEW I should have done that to start with).

Also, what do you need to add to the system to support the auto-compression? I'd like to compress some of the kids shows...

Auto-recompress info is linked in the feature list in the first post.

Comskip info is in the Wiki (here and here)

Wow Nielm, this looks really promising. I'm still using Malore's skin but it hasen't been updated in some time so I'm kinda tempted to try something new, even though I really like Malore's work!

Do you think the installation routine of your skin will be combined and made easier at some point or is that simply not possible and I should just live with the installation the way it is?

Let me know :-) It might be worht waiting a little bit if you're gonna include some kind of installation routine.

Thank you nielm!!!

WAF is topping out with your STV! Thanks for adding the recordings view I wanted... And com skip is a nice bonus.

Thanks again...

Only thing left on my wish list is SVCD support in SageTV internal DVD player.

I am unlikely to change it in the near future

1. Commercial advance works great for me.

2. Love being able to configure all of the menus. NEAT.

3. Already setup the weather suite, also cool.

4. Setup a number of RSS feeds. Works great.

One note, looks like in the DETAILED SETUP -> ENHANCEMENTS section there are TWO listings for "Malore Menus Options". Only one of the two works (the bottom one).

Thanks again!

What am I missing with commercial skip? I can't seem to find anywhere to manually start comskip on a recording. I used to have it working great in the commercial advance beta.

Never mind... it appears you need to be using the Malore recordings guide.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply Niel ...

BUT ... like others, my thanks is way overshadowed by my appreciation for your amazing commitment to the development of the ultimate STV.

You deserve a ton of credit for turning around some VERY cool updates since you returned from vacation only a short while ago. I can not wait to update my system!! I almost want to take the day off from work ...

Before I get started Questions ...

1 - Would you suggest as a best practice to install MlbDude2 and then Nielm 1.3 over it? Is that the simplest way? I am going to hold a copule of brown bags at work and want to make an install recommendation.

2 - When using Commercial Skip ...

White94 said ... Cobra What am I missing with commercial skip? I can't seem to find anywhere to manually start comskip on a recording. I used to have it working great in the commercial advance beta.

Then ...

Never mind... it appears you need to be using the Malore recordings guide.

So, does this mean it will not work with MlbDude2's 2-Pane Recordings screen??

I know oyu haven't tested this. but maybe someone else can tell me.

Again THANKS Neil ... Excellent work ....

mightyt,
That looks to be correct. You can only activate commercial detection from the options menu when using Malores recording menu.

Good work nielm.
