yeah you need to increase the aspect ratio setting the default that SageTV uses of 107% usually covers it

I will try that when I get home.

I have another question you may be able to answer. The picture of my recordings is fine for the most part, but in the last couple of days it will turn all white, every so often while Im watching the recordings. It will stay that way for a couple of minutes and then go back to normal. I will try to post a screen capture later when I get home. I had not experienced this until about 2 days ago.

what your hardware specs?
make sure all drivers are up-to-date and current
could have been just a bad recording though

use control + print screen
for a full screen capture
I am really having a I hard time seeing it
also if you make it an attachment then it can be a bigger picture

and I have no idea why it would do this

but I would try and reinstall the drivers
and make sure everything is up-to-date

EDIT: yeah I agree with Opus4
it could be a flaky decoder

what are you using?

Also: are the recordings actually like this, or is it just the playback? How does it play in a diffferent program? Does this happen when using the Hauppauge TV software (assuming you are using a Hauppauge card) to record/watch something?
