Favorites don't always record.

Most of the time my favorites do record but every once in a while one is missed. Last night it happened again, I had a favorite scheduled to record for my wife. I read the FAQ and checked all the reasons why a favorite would not record. I double checked the favorite in Live TV Guide and it had a white rectangle around it. And the font was not italic so SageTV did not think it was already recorded. There were no conflicts. The favorite is set to record First Runs and ReRuns. I checked Sage.properties and scheduling_lookahead is still at the default of 3 days (259200000 miliseconds) and it was not scheduled at a different time. I have plenty of disk space, over 100 gig. Has anyone else had this problem? Any other reason a favorite won't record that I missed?

Thanks,
Greg

It could be scheduled out beyond 3 days, Sage schedules ahead as far as there's guide data AFAIK (at least for favorites/manuals) but only shows 3 days in the Scheduled Recordings.

just change the scheduling look ahead to two weeks
you will find that SageTV has it covered and it is nice to have all the same information as the program, SageTV, has

You don't need to set it to look ahead the full 2 weeks for it to resolve a conflict -- it is _supposed_ to (as far as I know) be able to look beyond 3 days to reschedule a show to solve a conflict.

What specific show was missed? Is it already sitting on your drive, recorded? Also, do not go by the white rectangle around the show on the LiveTV Guide -- that just means that it is a favorite, not that it is scheduled to record at that time. Always check the Recording Schedule screen to see what is actually scheduled.

Thanks for the info, I think I see where I might have gone wrong. I thought the white triangle in the Live Guide would be the same as the upcoming recording schedule. So I'm thinking that I assumed it would be recorded but it was not actually scheduled. And I didn't realize the Sage would look ahead 2 weeks for scheduling even when the lookahead was set to 3 days. I'm going to change the look ahead to be 2 weeks and keep an eye on the upcoming record schedule.

Thanks again for the help,
Greg
