Newbie with a question!
First I'd like to say I've died and gone to Heaven. Tried BTV wit my setup with little luck. This (2.0) is truly plug and play! I have one small problem. The time is off in the SageTV window how do Iadjust so I can actually record something?

The time is off compared to your PC's system time? How much -- by 1 hour fast/slow, perhaps? Is your cable provider in another time zone?
You could try going to Detailed Setup -> General & disable the option to sync the system clock with the SageTV server. You'll have to make sure your system time is correct, or use one of many utilities available to have your PC auto-adjuct its clock to atomic time. If it is off by a couple minutes on various channels, that can happen according to how a station has its clocks set. You can pad your recordings for that situation. - Andy

Also be sure Windows is set for the correct country and time zone, and also to automatically compensate for Daylight Saving time.
Make sure you have selected a guide service provider in your time zone. Maybe you accidently hit a wrong number for your Zip code, which could have it in a different zone. I'm up in Wisconsin, so should be in the same time zone as you and mine lists the right times (although sometimes the stations vary a few seconds/minutes, if you want/need you can compensate for that with time padding ). I should have mentioned that the taime is exactly one hour behind. Yes, I did go through the Set Up Wizard to reenter my zip with no luck. I will try removing the sync feature as well. My sytem clock as well as the cable providers is correct. Thanks for your help!

Seems the guide is off as well. Teen Titans comes on @ 10 a.m. but is listed @ 9.
I will change provider to see what that does. |

Definitely info from Sage Guide. Example: News at 11 shows up on the guide at 10. Any ideas?

Check your time zone setting in windows time settings.
If that doesn't work exit sage completely, and try entering your timezone on the "time_zone=" line. CDT should work for you. FWIW, I'm CDT also and have no problems, I'm your time zone setting is wrong in windows. |

Also, I am using a serial cable to DCT2244 connection. I am not able to view any 3 digit channels. I know I read of a fix for that but I am unable to find it now. any help would be most appreciated.

Windows time setting is ok. DST auto adjust no t activated. Selected that option and applied. This forum is in the same time zone as well. Not sure how to do this:
try entering your timezone on the "time_zone=" line Please explain. Thank you! |

-edit Actually I think your problem is that you have Auto adjust DST not activated, because of that Sage think you're running in CST instead of CDT. My understanding of how sage works is that everything is GMT time internal, and is formatted to local settings for display. So since your PC is set to CST Sage coverts to times an hour behind.
Just close Sage (completely not just sleep) and change the line to "time_zone=GMT-6" Last edited by stanger89; 08-08-2004 at 12:25 PM. |

do you have your source configured correctly ? are you sure the plugin is working at all you might just be tuning the analogue cable signal if you can only tune two digit channels I use serial but it is with the native support for DirecTV boxes so I am not very knowledgable about he plug in if you have it setup correctly and have this problem sorry |

Ok! That done it! It seems setting the system clock for auto DST worked as the Sage time reflects the correct time. Thank you all for your help!
As far as my setup is concerned, I recieve my signal form Comcast via coax. That is connected to the PVR Usb2. The DCT2244 is connected to the PC via serial connection. When you say, 'do you have your source configured correctly ?' What would do you suppose 'correctly' is? Currently my setup is: Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 encoder tv tuner channel 4: Comcast Chicago Digital The plugin is working because it does change the channels. Not quite sure what this means: you might just be tuning the analogue cable signal if you can only tune two digit channels but I am going to try a different setup configuration. |
