Question 3rd pvr250 ?

So - I'm thinking of adding a 3rd pvr250.

Only one pvr250 will be connected to a 'freeview' digital box (using the component in). The other 2 cards will be getting a direct signal from the TV aerial.

1 - Will this be a problem with the xml data imported into Sage (I have the plugin that gives you added info about the programmes)?

2 - what will be the best ir transmitter to use to control the 'freeview' box?
I have seen the 'RedRat', but don't really know of any others.

Any info would be great

Cheers guys/galz

run all three via aerial and then on third one only put the channels available only to freeview not aerial

so the third tuner will use two inputs not a big deal
but the freeview needs to be setup for only channels which you cannot get over aerial
because you cannot have duplicate channels

also setup the freeview tuner to be used as the third tuner
so it will use the other two first for recording leaving it available the most for liveTV

also it is composite not component

I just got my USB-UIRT so I set things up (just using 2 PVR250's).

The first problem that I have encountered is that If I change the channel line-up for one card, the line-up changes for the other card too. Thus not enabling me to select different channels for the different cards as you said KNY.

Also - will I have to re-order my terrestrial channels to correspond to my digital channels? ie - 01 (BBC1 - Digital) is using channel 26.

Help would be grand

I believe you have to specify a different lineup. Editing the channels for a lineup for one tuner seems to affect all tuners using that same lineup.

As I am in the UK (downloading XML files) I'm not sure if this is possible?!?!

Can you have 2 different channel lineups using XML inport?

This is probably in nielms territory. He seems to be a fire-eating god of XMLTV.

you cannot have multiple same channels

like you cannot have 2 NBCs, or 2 MTVs

you will need to set up both tuners for the aerial and the extra channels not recieved through aerial will be used in your set top box with the USB UIRT

if it is really that big of a deal just get another set top box
the USB UIRT can control more than one

I had to do that for mine

all locals are analogue cable connected to both cards and all other channels come from DirecTV connected to just one of my pvr 250s
