Question Set Up Question

Anyone out there know of someone for hire to set up my SageTV system? I live in the Los Angeles, CA area. I thought my roommate and I could work our way through it . . . but after reading some of the forums . . . I'm not so sure now. And it might be worth it to me to have someone who knows what they are doing set up the system!

TapeItAll Sells pre-built, pre-configured Sage systems, as does X-mediazone.

But if you're looking for someone to simply configure it for you, I'm not aware of anyone, although you'll definitely get great help here.

FWIW, Sage is generally pretty easy to install, it's basically a matter of picking your service provider and setting up some favorites/recordings.

I've written a little guide on preparing your PC for a Sage install (see my sig) and Sage installs a setup guide which should get you going. While no one can guarantee you a trouble free install, I'd say there's nothing to worry about, especially if you have a rather plain setup using analog cable and a single tuner.

Just curious, have you tried setting up Sage yet?

No, I haven't. I am just beginning this process. I have been watching SageTV for almost a year - and am ready to step in! My first hurdle is getting the right computer! I think I will try your links. I got a pretty nice system quoted from Monarch Computing (recommended from the Hardware Forum). But they never actually heard of SageTV. If your guys have heard of SageTV - that might be better.

Both those companies are Sage partners, TapeItAll actually built the box Frey showed at CES AFIAK.

Personally I like building computers and messing with Sage, but if you want the plug and play experience, one of the builders above should do for you. Note that I have no experience with either.

Did you order a pre-built system? I'm in Toluca Lake and may be able to help you as well. Just PM me.
