DirecTV serial control of receivers

I've read the forums and seen mentions of Sony receivers, but no model #'s in particular.

I'm getting DirecTV SOLELY for NFL ticket on the premise that I can record 3 simultaneous games. So if I can't get Sage to control the receivers, I'll be throwing away a lot of money.

If you have multiple receivers controlled serially, please post your receiver model # so when I call DirecTV I can request specific receivers...

thanks!

I only have one connect to Sage and it is by serial but I think you need a USB UIRT for the other two recievers
I would use serial for cause it is so fast though

Sony SAT-B3

I have two recievers hooked up both with serial connections. You should only be limited by the number of serial ports that you have. Also I have had success with USB->Serial converters.

Recievers are RCA drd420E models. The models do not have to match because I used to have an older reciever and one of the 420s until the old one died.

Good luck in your search. I know someone that subscribed recently to DirecTV and they were given a Phillips reciever with no serial connection. Bummer.

I have a Sony SAT A-50 that I have had no luck in maintaining a serial connection with. I'm running a single PVR-350 though.

Be vary wary of serial control and supposed success. Mine hasn't been able to run any longer than 2 days and getting it back isn't just restarting in my case. I have gone back to a pre-Hauppage, pre-Sage image and started over only to have die again in less than two days. Trying a third time I haven't been able to even get the serial up and Frey support hasn't answered an reply email in two days.
