Importing Videos not creating Property Files

Reinstalled Sage a few weeks back on a Ubuntu Linux 18 box. I convert DVD Files to MKV and import them to Sage. Noticed after importing about 6 that none have video lengths though they play fine. Also noticed that the new files do not have the matching properties files which the older ones do. Any solutions for this or ideas of what might be wrong?

OK, since no one answered let me modify my original question as it might have been in error. It occurred to me I had Kodi running on my old SageTV Server before I rebuilt it and do not on the new one and the individual import files might have been created by Kodi vs. SageTV. If so is it possible the issue I am having is with the MKV Files themselves or something else in Sage like the Wiz.bin file? Do the imported file details reside in Wiz.bin?

If I remember there are certain plugins that rebuild the .properties files but I think that they aren't really needed anymore. I kind of remember CMT and BMT both could generate them - but I could be wrong.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with jvl711's work to modernize Sage's format detection. There was an issue where using a modern version of ffmpeg's format detection for mkv files was slightly different than what resides in the Sage core. When a format is not identified properly it can create the behavior you describe where no timeline is available. There were updates and patches to address the issue with mkv format detection. Not sure if you are using jvl711's format parser plugin or not?

So thanks for the responses. I went ahead and deleted all my Plugins and reinstalled them, then did a full rescan of my Library. .Now I have all the property files for each movie. However, all of the imported files now have movie lengths of 0:00. This mainly causes issues when I try to jump ahead and jump back in the timeline. Since there is no timeline with a 0:00 length, jumping back 10 second takes you to the beginning of the movie even if you are over an hour in. So, if I can fix this, that would be great!

Yikes, I have that same issue if I transcode one of the sagetv mpg files to mp4 files will current version of FFMPEG, I had to go back to an ffmpeg version from 2017 so the skip worked correctly again. I sure hope you can get this figured out as I would like to use a recent version if I can. -Bill
