Lockups during FFWD and REW on Client
Hi.....
I'm trying to use a little laptop I have that's been sitting in the closet for a year and a half (Sony GR-270) to be a Sage client for the master bedroom. There's no WAY the wife (or me) would want a loud desktop PC in the bedroom sounding like Hurricane Andrew. Anyway, the client works (as it does with other PCs in the house), but whenever the FF-1 or REW-1 buttons are hit, Client completely locks up. Not windows, just Client. No remote, just using a mouse on the screen. Also, the duration of the show on the information overlay is RED colored. (the right hand time). I've never seent this before. Pause and Play work OK. Anyone have any ideas? Sony GR-270 consists of ATI Mobilty Radeon, P-3 1GHz and this one has 512MB of RAM. Thanks, Stacy Last edited by srothwell; 08-01-2004 at 12:57 PM. |

Try different combinations of video and audio decoders. I know my client has that problem with certain ones (or combinations of them, especially the nvDVD audio decoder).
Not sure what's up with the red border though. Could be something messed up with whatever STV you are using (just guessing). |

Well, it gets even better.......
When I went downstairs to the family room (where the server is), the Sage Server was also locked up. Again, not the PC, just the Sage software. Verified it again. Whenever this laptop sends a FFW or REW command, it locks up the Client *AND* the server software. Strange to say the least. I have had two other PCs in the house running Client for two weeks with absolutely no problems. Guess maybe the laptop goes back in the closet :-) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE somebody write a bloody client for the MVP!!!!!!! This PC stuff sucks. |
