Video Editing software

Sorry for this maybe unrelated topic but I do have quite a few recordings that I’ve made with my SageTV so far. What I hate about them is the few minutes in front that do take while it’s switching channels. I would love to just edit this out and have plain show, maybe even cut out commercials from those recordings as well. My question is that is the easiest software to use for that purpose? I am not looking for any fancy montage software such as adobe premiere or such, I am looking for simple software that I can just select frames or parts of the recordings from front, back and maybe in between and just cut them out. Like in word document, you can use cut and paste feature, plain and simple… is such available somewhere in recording? I also would not like to loose quality of my recordings so I would not like this software to start re-render my recordings. I do record my sage in the DVD quality mode, which do generate quite big files if they are over hour long.

Thanks a lot for any suggestions that you might have.

Chris

(not affiliated w/them at all...just a happy user)

Search the forum for "videoredo" for related posts.

Go to the SHS website for a complete list under the MPEG Editor. The editors usually recommended are the Womble Multimedia editors (Mpeg2vcr or Video Wizard) or the VideoReDo.
