Problem adding network encoder

I have a sage system that was upgraded from ver 7 to ver 9 a long time ago. The configuration that was migrated includes two network encoders (sagegraph encoder) that are used to capture from Cable STBs via firewire. These two capture devices are working without error. I am trying to add a third similar encode device and am having a problem. When Adding the New source i select the firewire input for the video and I am then required to select an audio device but there isnt one to choose from which prevents me from continuing.

Note i did run a test after backing up the sagetv folder by deleting an existing working encoder and trying to add it back. I get the same problem.

Does anyone know if something changes between version 7 and 9 that would cause this problem and more importantly how can i get version 9 to allow me to add this third encoder?
