.properties files in recordings folder?

Hello,

I've recently transitioned to using OpenDCT from SageDCT for recording from my HDHomerun Prime. This all occurred at the same time as I transitioned to Windows 10. I have since noticed that for every newly recorded TV show .ts file, there is now a corresponding .properties file in my TV Recordings folder with the same name as the .ts file with the .properties extension added. It is a small text file that appears to contain some unique program ID When I then delete a show through SageTV, I find that the .properties file does not get deleted, so I end up with all these orphaned 1Kb text files in the folder.

Is this something that OpenDCT creates? Or is this caused by some setting in SageTV itself that I inadvertently set (like maybe does this have something to do with IMDB and metadata)? In any case, is there a way to turn that feature off so these files do not get created?

Thanks,
Chris

Those properties files are not from openDCT.

Sage can be set to create properties files for recordings. There are also some plugins that create properties files for recordings.

Thanks for the response.

I think I traced it to the "Upcoming Movies 2" plugin which installs the Complementary Metadata Tool (CMT) plugin.

This can be turned off. Not at home, but I can check tonight for the setting.
